Jane + Lantz | Asbury Methodist Wedding – The Broadway Reception

September 8th, 2011

Jane and Lantz celebrated their wedding vows at Asbury Methodist on a very hot Saturday last month, and just as Jane was about to walk through the doors to come down the aisle a storm rolled through and enormous booms of thunder announced her entrance! After the ceremony, everyone raced downtown to The Broadway (a great venue for parties and receptions).  Jane and Lantz danced with their friends an family with DJ Connections working the crowd. The catering was handled by Orr (always a good choice) and the cake – the incredible melt in your mouth slice of heaven bavarian cheesecake – was from Ludger’s.  You can see a slideshow of some of my favorites from the wedding day here: Jane + Lantz.

Grace + G.J. | Tulsa Wedding

August 1st, 2011

Shooting weddings is hard work, but with people like Grace and G.J. the hard work evaporates into fun.  Grace originally planned for an outdoor wedding and reception at Five Oaks Lodge, but with the intense heat starting up so early this year she decided to move the ceremony to St. James UMC and just have the reception at Five Oaks. The incredible vendors working this wedding made it beautiful and fun: Wedding coordination by Erica Weddings, flowers by The French Bouquet, ceremony decor by Ceremonial Blessings, and DJ services by Zach Downing.

You can see a slideshow of my favorites from the wedding day here: Grace + G.J.

Tulsa Children’s Museum | The Composer is Dead

April 28th, 2011

I have been working with my friends over at the Tulsa Children’s Museum by photographing some of the family concerts they have brought to Tulsa in the recent months.  Late last year they presented The Composer is Dead (orchestral work by Nathaniel Stookey and written by Lemony Snicket),  a whimsical tale with the primary purpose of introducing the different instruments of an orchestra to a young audience.  The performance was at the PAC and performed by the Tulsa Symphony.  After the concert the kids were allowed to handle and investigate most of the instruments and talk to the musicians.  The Tulsa Children’s Museum, currently a museum without walls,  is an incredible group of individuals working very hard to inspire children, connect families, and build community through exploration, exhibits, programming and play.

Jamie + Tony | Tulsa Wedding

April 20th, 2011

Now that LIFE is in a more stable and predictable pattern (knock on wood) I can catch up and post some of the wonderful people and events I’ve been photographing.

First up is the unbelievably cool wedding of Jamie + Tony.  The Orthodox ceremony was held at The Church of Saint Benedict in Broken Arrow and the reception was held at the Renaissance Hotel.  Wedding planner Erica Scott of Erica Weddings made sure the day ran on schedule and smoothly (as always).  The reception was a blast – Tony made sure of it with the great Lebanese music, dancing and professional belly dancer!
