Kelsie and Chance’s June 12th wedding was held at the Stubblefield Chapel on the Oklahoma Baptist University campus in Shawnee.  I fell in love with this historic chapel as soon as I arrived, and photographed the building and all it’s details.  The crazy clouds we had that day sure helped!  The ceremony was brief, meaningful, and they were surrounded by their closest friends and family.  Kelsie made sure there was plenty of time between the wedding and the reception to give us the most time possible for their portraits.  More of my favorites are in a slide show here:  Kelsie + Chance

Amber | Bridal Session

Amber first called me to ask if I could shoot her upcoming wedding. I was already booked for her wedding date, so we settled for a bridal session at her reception venue, the Harwelden Mansion.

Elizabeth | Post Wedding Bridal Session

Elizabeth decided to hold off on doing her bridal session until after the wedding so she wouldn’t have to worry about her dress getting dirty. We met up at Gilcrease museum, then headed downtown. Elizabeth really rocked this session!

TulsaPeople Weddings magazine contacted me about submitting some new photos for their upcoming issue and I asked if they had heard about Trash the Dress. Trash the Dress is a chance for newly married brides to do an unconventional bridal session after the wedding. Some photographers have taken it to the ugly extremes and have their subjects roll around in mud, or climb in dumpsters. To me, though, a trash the dress session is about making some unique, fun, high fashion photographs without worrying if the dress will get spoiled. TulsaPeople Weddings thought it a great idea!

Let’s face it, unless you are going to sell the dress after the wedding, it won’t ever get used again. You won’t wear it, your daughter certainly won’t wear it, so why not let loose, put it on one last time, and make some great pictures?

That’s exactly what Kristen did, and she brought her husband Jerome along. I shot her wedding earlier this year, and when I called her to see if she would be interested in doing a Trash the Dress session, she really got excited. We started the session under a bridge at the river. Watch for some of these in the upcoming issue!

After shooting for while near the river, we went to play in a park

We finished the session downtown.

We had a great time! If you’re interested in doing a Trash the Dress session, e/mail me and we can get it set up! Here’s the full slideshow – Trash the Dress!
