Imagine your elementary school aged child being a classroom environment that actively promotes and encourages community and creativity.  And imagine your child loving and enjoying school so much that he actually doesn’t want summer break to start.  And imagine that the teacher in this classroom is so talented and committed to bringing out the absolute best in the kids in her charge she goes to extremes to make it happen every. single. day.  Me?  I don’t have to imagine it, because it happened to my child.  And Jo was his teacher.

Jo has a beautiful aura of creativity that shows in everything she does.  She’s honest, and real, and makes you feel totally at ease when you’re around her.  She’s funny, quick to smile, and even quicker to encourage.  Watch the slide show and you will see what I mean:  Jo + Greg

Because of all of the above and more, it was a true joy to have had the privilege of photographing her wedding.  Thank you, Jo, and may your life be blessed the way you have blessed others.

I love weddings. Really, really love them and for so many reasons. And every so often I am privileged to witness something extra special. This is exactly what happened to me on Allison and Blake’s wedding day. Allison told me they wanted to see each other before the wedding and have a special private moment before doing their pictures together. She asked if I could be there when this happened. When the time came we cleared out the sanctuary and Blake waited patiently for Allison to make her way down to him. He turned around, and they embraced each other in a way that happens once in a lifetime (they reminded me of Wesley and Buttercup from The Princess Bride) They then exchanged their own personal vows to each other that nearly buckled my knees. They contacted me to shoot their reception later in August.  Why only the reception, I asked.  Oh, we’re getting married on the beach in Florida.  Schweet!  So as it turns out I was already booked for the reception date, but one of my associates was available so he’ll be covering the reception when they get back all tanned and rested.  I offered to shoot an engagement session for them and they agreed to meet me early one HOT Saturday morning.  We roamed around Utica Square for a while and then went downtown.  You guys were fun to work with…..have a great time at the wedding!

I was honored to be asked to shoot Sarah’s wedding after doing her sister’s wedding three years ago (has it really been that long?).  Sarah and Mike both live and work in Las Vegas, but came back home for the wedding.  The ceremony and reception were held at the Double Tree downtown, with DJ Connections keeping everyone on the dance floor.  Sarah’s flowers were done by Christina Burton (her Aunt),  Merritt’s Bakery made the awesome cake, and her dress was designed by Sophia Tolli.
