Bryce | Turning 8

August 18, 2009

Bryce invited a few of his friends to the neighborhood pool to help him celebrate his 8th birthday.  I put up a sheet of white seamless and took some quick portraits.  Swimming, water balloon fights, limbo, cake and ice cream.  Being 8 is great!

I was driving around scouting new locations and zipped past this old abandoned service station.  I pulled to the side of the road and walked back for a closer view.

Most of the time when I approach my own kids with my camera in hand, they don’t exactly give me their cooperation.  In fact, they usually run away and hide in protest, or make goofy faces, or break down in uncontrollable fits of anguish as if I was torturing them by making them eat broccoli.  Yesterday was different for some reason.  Maybe as they are getting older they are more in control of their emotions, or maybe it was the promise of extra video game time, but either way they actually worked with me to get some fun moments.  The full series can be seen here:  Bryce and Quinn

I can’t think of a better way to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary than to surround yourself with your children and grandchildren!
